Fifth-generation farmer Dan Brick not only cares about his animals, he is passionate about the land he farms and dedicated to sharing his environmental journey with the community and fellow farmers. Conservation and cow comfort are at the heart of Brickstead Dairy’s mission and drive the decision-making and vision of the dairy. 

Operations at Brickstead continue on the same land that Dan’s ancestors from Ireland purchased from Hoel Wright, the founder of Wrightstown in 1848.  While many things have changed over the years, others remain the same, such as the granary that is still used today and of course, cows.

Dan assumed ownership of the Dairy in 1996 when his father Eugene retired. He has grown the dairy from twenty cows, when Eugene assumed ownership, to the nine hundred cows on the farm today. The parlor runs twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week with the entire herd visiting the parlor three times a day. Brickstead employs thirteen full-time employees to carry out day-to-day operations and works with numerous vendors and custom operators throughout the year to assist with calf and heifer raising, crop management and harvesting, veterinary work, and consulting services, to name a few.

The Brickstead team is dedicated to producing high-quality milk from well-cared-for cows while maintaining the highest levels of land stewardship possible.  To help our employees live our vision and mission, we provide frequent training, and on-site consultation from experts and engage in off-site training when possible.
