For more than thirty years, The Brotherhood/Sister Sol has worked to address inequity through education, organizing, and training. The organization centers Black and Latinx youth, helping them draw strength from their history and community to shape the future they want. It provides wraparound programming and around-the-clock support to create space for young people to examine their roots, define their stories, and develop their agency. Its educational programs aim to build critical understanding of history, identity, and participants’ roles in society, while its staff and alumni collaborate with partners to advance youth-led activism. BroSis is rooted in Harlem, New York, and operates as a mid-sized nonprofit with reach to youths across the United States, including through national training initiatives for educators and organizers. It has continued to present community events such as the Voices Gala, highlighting its ongoing activity in the social justice space.
