We make mead. Simply put mead is wine made from honey, but, more poetically, mead is the drink of the gods, cherished from the time of the Pharaohs to the Emperors of China.

Brothers Drake Meadery is bringing a legend to life. Mead, also known as honey wine, is arguably the oldest alcoholic beverage documented. References to mead abound in our mythos, history, literature, medicinal remedies, etc. Made from the fermentation of honey, mead is a beverage in a category of its own that dates back beyond the reaches of human history.  

Honey is available in numerous varietals defined by their floral source; this makes for an amazing array of mead flavors and characters. Just as with beer, wine, and other spirituous beverages, the addition of other ingredients (e.g. fruit, herbs, and spices) can be added to exponentially multiply the possible flavors of mead. 

The Meadmasters of Brothers Drake take pride in their ability to craft palate-pleasing meads with modern methods.  We NEVER add sulfites to our mead and we use a no heat method that keeps all the flavor in the bottle.  

Everything we make is GLUTEN-FREE.  Mead is quickly becoming the best choice for consumers with certain sensitivities.
