Our first location was opened in Memphis, TN in 1963 with 8 employees in a 7,500 square-foot warehouse facility. bpi was a wholesale distributor of Formica-brand plastic laminate and Kentile Vinyl plastic floors. In the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's, bpi formed strategic, long-term relationships. We broadened product lines to include: Hardwood flooring, Mannington vinyl sheet flooring, American Olean-brand ceramic tile and other surfacing products with strong national brand names. We were on our way to becoming a "Full One Stop Shop!". 2000 and beyond, bpi continues growth and becomes the second largest floor covering distributor. At that time, we were the largest in the South and largest Commercial Distributor in the Region. We began private label programs in Hardwood, Ceramic, Sinks, Carpet & LVT flooring. Today, bpi's wholesale floor covering and decorative surfacing distribution operations encompass ten states, 765,000 square-foot of warehouse facilities, over 380 associates, employee ownership, representing the industry's best vendors and servicing over 5,800 buying customers.
