C. Spencer Smith AIA, LLC (CSSAIA, LLC) is small, hard-working full service architecture firm based in the Upper French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. Established in 1998, we hit the ground running with our commitment to Historic Preservation and Tax Credit Certifications. CSSAIA, LLC has led large scale construction projects by performing construction cost alignment to grants in assisting State reimbursement from FEMA. We offer our clients our expertise in Section 106 and FEMA regulations to ensure environmental and historic preservation laws are observed.

Ms. Smith (Dodie) is the Principal/ Owner and Licensed Architect for CSSAIA, LLC, specialist of architectural planning and a graduate of Tulane School of Architecture. Dodie has been a registered architect for 34 years.

Ms. Smith is qualified as a Historic Architect under the Secretary of the Interior's (SOI) Standards for Rehabilitation. She has served on the full commssion for the Vieux Carre Commission since 1998. Until her recent resignation after 13 years of service, she was Vice Chairman of the full Commission and served as Chairman of the Architectural Committee. She currently represent the Recovery School District and the Orleans Parish School Board to ensure their compliance to the SOI standards, and Section 106 of the National Preservation Act in all of their restored, renovated, mothballed, demolished or expanded historic properties. This role requires techniques required to remain in compliance to the standards set forth by the Secretary of the Interior when working with historic structures.

Recently she has been engaged to fulfill this same role for the City of New Orleans. this ongoing work includes the review of drawings by other professionals for compliance to these standards.
