Calcareous Vineyard is a family-owned winery in Paso Robles, California, producing Rhône and Bordeaux varietals that express the estate’s calcareous terroir. The estate sits on a limestone plateau on the west side of Paso Robles, with 442 acres planted at about 1,700 feet in elevation. Founded by Lloyd Messer and Dana Brown, the operation has been guided by Dana since Lloyd’s death in 2006. 
Wine tastings are offered daily by appointment from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and a seasonal lunch program runs from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, complemented by elevated private tasting experiences throughout the year. In 2022, Calcareous appointed Steven Smeets as Executive Chef to oversee the winery’s daily wine-pairing lunch menu that began in 2020.
