The California Faculty Association is a labor union that represents professors, lecturers, librarians, counselors, and coaches across the California State University system. It covers campuses across 23 CSU locations and serves about 29,000 members who teach and provide student support services. Through its work, CFA members contribute to student education by developing critical-thinking skills, technical competencies, and cultural understanding. The CSU system is the largest four-year public university network in the United States, and the association operates within higher education to represent its members in workplace matters.

In January 2024, CFA announced a tentative agreement with the CSU system that ended a systemwide strike after one day, signaling progress in negotiations. News reports from that period indicate campus-level agreements with institutions such as Stanislaus State and Cal State Fullerton.
