We specialise in designing compact actuators that utilise shape memory alloy (SMA) materials. We are the only company in the world to master the precise control of SMA materials and we have developed and patented a variety of SMA-based actuators to control, move and position objects with exceptional accuracy. 
We protect our intellectual property, primarily via patenting our inventions, and licence our technology and IP to our manufacturing partners. Our SMA platform technologies comprise mechanical designs, electronics, control circuitry and software. CML actuators use SMA wires as single-piece motors that are thinner than human hair, and are able to reliably control their movement with sub-micron accuracy. Our SMA-based actuators can be used to provide auto-focus and optical image stabilisation in cameras, more accurate 3D-sensing, haptic devices, drug delivery devices and surgical instruments.
