Camp Blessing Tx (CBTX) exists to show the hope of Jesus Christ to those with special needs, their families, and the volunteers who serve them, in a week-long, residential, barrier-free summer camp. We are a Houston-based, award-winning, Christian summer camp ministry designed for children with special needs (physical/intellectual disabilities) to experience a week-long residential, barrier-free camp surrounding them with love, acceptance and fun. This summer, Camp Blessing will surpass 5,300 campers and volunteer counselors who have experienced this life-changing ministry since 2006. Camp Blessing begins a new chapter in its 10-year ministry by announcing its purchase of a 158-acre property at 9402 Palestine Road, Brenham 77833. Plans are underway to customize the former Heartland Retreat property purchased by the camp with plans to be ready for campers by summer 2017. For 10 weeks each summer the property will host special needs campers, and 42 weeks each year it will be available for rent by special needs ministries and organizations looking for retreat facilities. The Camp Blessing Capital Campaign is raising $13MM to customize the facility allowing barrier-free use. Once we are in our first permanent home, we are going to be able to serve 400% more individuals with special needs by expanding into a year-round ministry.
