The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) is a non-partisan, research-based industry association representing oil and natural gas producers in Canada, spanning exploration, development, and production. It advocates on behalf of member companies, large and small, and its members account for roughly three-quarters of the country's annual oil and natural gas production. Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, CAPP also includes associate members that provide services supporting upstream activities. The upstream oil and gas sector it represents supports about 450,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributed over $85 billion to Canada’s GDP last year, and accounted for more than 20% of exports, with $116 billion in taxes and royalties generated between 2022 and 2024. The association collaborates with all levels of government to promote a thriving, safe, reliable, and responsibly produced energy system, while advancing emissions reduction and Indigenous participation; in early 2025 it announced collaborations with Pathways Alliance, Enserva, EPAC and CAOEC to coordinate efforts on tariffs affecting Canadian oil and gas exports to the United States.
