Caney Fork Electric Cooperative, established in July 1940, proudly serves the communities of DeKalb, Warren, White, and Van Buren counties in Middle Tennessee, with select services extending beyond these areas. As a member-owned cooperative, we uphold principles that promote open and voluntary membership, welcoming all individuals who can reasonably use our services, regardless of race, religion, gender, or economic circumstances. Our cooperative is governed democratically by our members, who participate actively in setting policies and making decisions. Elected representatives are accountable to the membership, ensuring that every voice is heard with equal voting rights (one member, one vote). Members play a crucial role in our cooperative’s economic participation, contributing equitably to its capital and sharing in its successes. We prioritize autonomy and independence, making decisions that reflect our unique identity while maintaining democratic control. We are committed to education and training for our members and employees, fostering a deeper understanding of cooperative values. Through collaboration with other cooperatives, we strengthen our services and address community needs effectively. At Caney Fork, we are dedicated to the sustainable development of our communities, ensuring that our policies reflect the collective aspirations of our membership. Together, we are more than just an energy provider—we are a partner in community growth and empowerment.
