Canisius College is a private higher education institution in Buffalo, Western New York. Founded in 1870, it is one of 27 Jesuit-affiliated colleges and universities in the United States. The college offers undergraduate, graduate, and pre-professional programs and emphasizes close student-faculty collaboration, mentoring, and leadership grounded in ethical considerations. The college is expanding its professional pathways through partnerships, including a planned six-year BS/MD Accelerated Pathway to MD with Western Atlantic University School of Medicine, slated for fall 2026, and an articulation with Boston College for a streamlined Master of Healthcare Administration. It also launched a two-week Pre-College Applied STEM & Professional Program. In health professions education, two teams from Canisius College's Physician Assistant Studies program finished in the top third among national competitors at the 2026 AAPA iScan Competition in New Orleans.
