The Carolina Renaissance Festival was first introduced in 1994 with six acres of exhibits, attractions and entertainments and has grown to become one of the largest renaissance themed events nationwide.  

Blending fantasy and history, the Festival celebrates 16th century European art and entertainment.  

The Festival is a tree lined 25 acre theme park filled with charming cottages and castles, kitchens and pubs, a most unusual collection of people powered rides and games of skill, 14 stages of outdoor theater featuring comedy, live music, and circus entertainments, an arts and craft market with over 140 artisans displaying handmade wares, and feasting fit for royalty.  Premier attractions include jousting knights on horse back battling 3 times daily, live falconry presentations, and swimming mermaids. 

The Carolina Renaissance Festival opens in the fall for eight consecutive Saturdays and Sundays, October and November and attracts 240,000 time traveling attendees. 

CRF is one of the most interactive entertainment shows ever created with wonderful amusements and antics ongoing all around you! You can sit back and watch or you can become a part of the action, surrounded by over 500 costumed characters roaming the festival village. The village lanes are full of peasants singing sea-faring songs and street entertainers surprising you with tall tales and tricks, each with a role to play!
