Carolina Specialty Tools was founded in 1989. Since inception, the company has been dedicated to manufacturing and servicing cutting tools especially for the woodworking industry. Changes in the industry over the past several years, including the migration of the traditional furniture industry to the Far East, have caused Carolina Specialty Tools to seek business in new woodworking market segments and even new industries. In 2004 the company made a significant move into the product area of diamond tipped tooling. Significant investments were made in spark-erosion machines as well as the necessary peripheral equipment for brazing, balancing and measuring. Rapid “know-how” advancements were made possible with the addition of key technical personnel and involvement in various strategic partnerships. Today, all types of polycrystalline diamond tipped tooling and indexable carbide insert tooling for high volume users in the wood, metal and composite industries are manufactured and serviced .
