Since 1989, Casa di Mir School has delivered to families of Silicon Valley an authentic Montessori education that honors the individuality of each child while nurturing his or her intellectual, physical and emotional development. Through a robust curriculum combined with peace education, students can develop at their own pace as they build confidence, learn individual responsibility and a cultivate strong sense of global citizenship.

And Casa di Mir is the only school in the South Bay that offers a Montessori program from preschool through 8th grade. 

Through Casa di Mir’s peace education curriculum, children learn to see others’ perspectives, communicate, and resolve conflict. A cornerstone of the Montessori curriculum, peace education also teaches critical thinking and self-control, as well as the core values of respect, compassion, forgiveness, and responsibility. With this framework, children blossom as individuals and find their voices as leaders. 

With low student-to-teacher ratios, Casa di Mir students also learn essential academic and life skills that develop their enthusiasm for learning, resourcefulness, and creativity. You’ll find no rows of desks in a Casa di Mir classroom. But you will find passionate learners thriving in an environment of independent, hands-on learning. A typical day may include: math, language, cultural studies, practical life, science, physical education, music/art, foreign language, and more. And it all takes place in a supportive, close-knit community that encourages strong partnerships between families and the school.
