Cellar Angels operates as an online platform combining a marketplace with a wine club, focusing on distinctive wines that come from Napa and Sonoma but are not widely known. It showcases products from small, limited-batch producers and ships selections directly to buyers, aiming to offer a curated route to discovery for wine enthusiasts. The business is located near the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, and it positions itself as supporting small wineries by encouraging customers to buy directly.

In 2020, Cellar Angels broadened its engagement by launching a virtual tasting and interview series led by founder Martin Cody, to connect with wine lovers beyond the marketplace. This initiative places the company within the beverage manufacturing industry as a bridge between niche producers and a national audience. The emphasis remains on rare, limited-production wines rather than mass-market offerings, aligning with its specialized positioning in the wine landscape.
