Centennial Public School is a mid-sized district that provides elementary and secondary education in Utica, Nebraska. It originated in 1967 through the consolidation of Beaver Crossing, Utica, Waco, and the Thayer district’s merger with Waco, creating a single district. After a new school building was completed in 1976, K-12 education began to be housed in one building. In 1986, Centennial expanded to include Gresham and part of the Cordova district, broadening its geographic footprint to roughly 316 square miles. The district serves areas primarily in eastern York and western Seward counties, with some parcels in Butler and Polk counties. From its inception, patrons have supported efforts toward educational excellence.
