The Center for Visual Artists (CVA) is the merger of two long-standing Greensboro community visual arts agencies, The Center for Creative Arts (est. 1965) and the Greensboro Artists’ League (est. 1956). These organizations joined forces in 2005 to form a comprehensive art education center that encompasses both arts education and art exhibition. The Center for Visual Artists (CVA) is a non-profit organization that supports emerging artists of all ages through educational programs, exhibition opportunities, and community outreach. The CVA’s program of work grows from our efforts to create opportunities for families to participate in various art activities and local artists to share their talents with others. Through education and exhibition programs, the CVA builds and strengthens bonds within the Greensboro community and enables anyone at any skill level to engage and experience the arts. The desired outcome for our organization is to ensure that there are visual art offerings in Greensboro that are approachable, accessible, and affordable. We believe that the visual arts can be used as a tool for personal and social development. The CVA strives to foster the education of families through the arts and engage our diverse community.
