Centre County Government serves as the governing authority for Centre County in central Pennsylvania, a fourth-class county established by the state legislature in 1800. The county is governed by a three-member Board of County Commissioners that carries both legislative and executive responsibilities. Headquartered in Bellefonte, the county spans about 1,110 square miles, includes 35 municipalities, and ranks among Pennsylvania’s larger counties by geographic size. The government provides a broad suite of services to residents, including administrative, criminal justice, human services, judiciary, property and tax administration, and public safety and emergency response. Its primary constituents are residents of Centre County and the 35 municipalities within it. In April 2026, the county government participated in organizing the second annual Centre County Spring Job Fair, in collaboration with PA CareerLink Centre County and the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County.
