A History of Excellence Charter Builders was founded in 1971 and has been twice named the AIA Dallas’ Contractor of the Year. The firm specializes in construction management at risk for public and private owners, with a primary emphasis on educational facilities. Charter has won numerous awards for project safety and quality in construction, including the 2009 national Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA) in the 100,000-500,000 man-hours category from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). In over three decades we have completed more than 500 projects ranging in size from $5 million in excess of $100 million, with an annual volume of $350 million in 2008.
