Chicago Importing Company distributes Scandinavian and Western European foods, including chocolates, candies, cheeses, beverages, and other specialty items. It is the exclusive distributor for Daim (Sweden), Freia (Norway), Fazer (Finland), and Marabou (Sweden) chocolates. The firm also markets its Lars Own line, a collection of gourmet products manufactured mainly in Sweden, Denmark, or Belgium, with items such as lingonberries, honey, mustard, crispy onions, ginger snaps, and pearl sugar used in traditional recipes. 

Founded in 1935 in Chicago's West Loop, the company was acquired in 1996 and relocated its offices and warehouse to Huntley, Illinois, in 2014. Its customer base includes retailers and foodservice operators seeking authentic European offerings, and it maintains a presence at major trade shows such as the Atlanta Gift Mart, the Winter and Summer Fancy Food Shows, and the Sweets & Snacks Expo. In 2026 the company debuted Nordic Sweets' Sweet Marshmallow Santas at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.
