The Children’s Chorus of San Antonio (CCSA) provides educational and performance opportunities in choral music to the children of the greater San Antonio area and surrounding communities. CCSA was established in 1983 and serves over 2000 young people (ages birth-18) and their families in three divisions. CCSA nurtures the artistic and personal potential of its participants through a comprehensive curriculum of performance and instruction; students are given the opportunity to develop the confidence, poise, maturity, self-esteem, and discipline necessary for success in music and success in life. CCSA’s divisions include: • Core Ensembles – seven training and performance ensembles for youth ages 5-18 provide a rigorous curriculum of performance-based instruction ranging from the basics of vocal technique through an extensive and diverse repertoire • Music Together® – family music classes for infants, toddlers, and young children through age 5 and their families encourage our children’s natural enthusiasm for music and movement • Neighborhood Choirs – tuition-free programs in partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs and the Good Samaritan Center for San Antonio youth to sing, learn, share and excel – right in their own neighborhood CCSA's advanced choirs regularly sing with world-class adult ensembles, including the San Antonio Symphony, Opera San Antonio, the San Antonio Chamber Choir, and San Antonio Mastersingers, have toured Scotland, Italy, Ireland, England, Canada and France and have been featured on NBC-TV's Today Show and NPR's Performance Today.
