Christian Brothers University is a private, four-year university in Memphis, Tennessee, founded in 1871 by the De La Salle Christian Brothers and affiliated with the Roman Catholic tradition. Its 75-acre wooded campus sits in midtown Memphis, near major interstates and medical centers, where undergraduate and graduate programs are housed. The university is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award bachelor's and master's degrees, and its engineering programs—chemical, civil, electrical, and mechanical—are ABET-accredited; it is approved as a teacher-training institution by the Tennessee Department of Education. The student body numbers around 1,670 students, representing 23 states and 24 countries, with a meaningful level of minority and international participation. In 2026, CBU announced a dual enrollment partnership with Christian Brothers High School to offer Construction Engineering and Management courses.
