Cincinnati Youth Choir (CYC) is an educationally based choral organization in residence at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), serving youth across southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and southeast Indiana. Founded in 1993, CYC now engages more than 1,000 children each year, building tomorrow’s future—one voice at a time. CYC offers a comprehensive continuum of programs for singers ages 3–18, including choirs in residence at CCM, neighborhood and regional choirs, and robust community engagement initiatives. Through high-quality instruction, innovative programming, and meaningful collaboration, CYC fosters musical excellence, personal growth, and community connection. Nationally and internationally recognized, CYC has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops, Cincinnati Opera, and leading ensembles and conductors worldwide. The choir has toured extensively throughout the United States and internationally, appearing at renowned venues such as St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, Carnegie Hall, and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. CYC is a Gold Medalist at the World Choir Games and a multiple-time winner of The American Prize. CYC is deeply committed to new music and artistic innovation, having premiered more than 80 commissioned works and collaborated with many of today’s leading American composers. Its recordings include nationally released albums with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, reaching the Billboard Classical Charts. Through programs such as the Cincinnati Choral Academy, Vivo Community Engagement, and Singabration Choral Camp, CYC expands access to music education, particularly in underserved communities. Guided by its mission—to offer all children the opportunity to experience musical excellence in a creative environment—CYC envisions a thriving global community strengthened and transformed by musical artistry.
