Citizens Campaign for the Environment is a member-based nonprofit that advocates for public health and environmental protection through community-led initiatives and policy work. Based in Farmingdale, New York, the organization operates in New York and Connecticut and concentrates on four program areas: water protection; public health, toxics, and recycling; open space and wildlife habitat; and climate change and energy policy. It maintains a non-partisan stance and seeks to empower communities to identify problems and pursue practical, local solutions.

Among its recent activities, the group partnered with the Village of Patchogue to establish a native-plant garden along a lakeside area, designed to support pollinators and habitat. The organization positions itself as a regional advocate within the nonprofit sector for environmental protection and public health, relying on member involvement to sustain its work.
