Located in Western Australia, the City of Nedlands is a local government authority situated about 7km from Perth, extending from the Swan River to the Indian Ocean. It serves a population of more than 21,000 across suburbs such as Nedlands, Dalkeith, Mt Claremont, Swanbourne, Karrakatta and parts of Floreat and Shenton Park, and is organized into four wards: Melvista, Hollywood, Dalkeith and Coastal. The council aims to foster a harmonious community by ensuring residents have access to essential services and quality facilities, including health and educational amenities. The city maintains parks and gardens, tree-lined streets and bushland, and delivers high-standard infrastructure, including roads, cycle paths and community and sporting facilities. It also supports social programs, cultural activities and city events as part of nurturing an active, safe and inclusive environment, while balancing social, economic and environmental priorities with community input. In 2024, the City appointed Keri Shannon as chief executive, reflecting ongoing leadership changes within the organization.
