The City of Sanger functions as a municipal government for the city of Sanger, located in north central Denton County, Texas. Founded in 1886 as a stop on the Santa Fe Railroad, its early economy grew around cattle ranching and crop farming. The city operates from 502 Elm Street and maintains a modest public staff focused on local governance and services. Its historical development was shaped by activities such as cattle production and the cultivation of crops including wheat, oats, maize, millet, and cotton.

As a government administration, it serves residents and local businesses by delivering municipal services and regulatory functions within the community. In December 2023, Texas Health Physicians Group partnered with the City of Sanger and local organizations, including First Refuge Ministries and First Baptist Church of Sanger, to work on a curriculum, illustrating ongoing community collaboration.
