The City of Stamford Fire Department has over 270 career firefighters, staffing nine fire stations city-wide. Stamford is located 35 miles Northeast of New York City in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and covers 39.9 square miles from its shoreline on Long Island Sound, north to the New York State border.
