City Year Rhode Island is a small nonprofit organization in the education administration field, based in Providence. It places AmeriCorps members in partner schools as full-time Student Success Coaches who work with teachers to support students’ academic progress, attendance, and social-emotional development. Through this service, corps members develop leadership and career readiness skills intended to prepare them for college and long-term careers; City Year operates as part of a national network with more than 3,000 AmeriCorps members across 29 communities and international affiliates in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
