The CODESYS Group is the manufacturer of CODESYS, the hardware-independent automation software according to IEC 61131-3, and is one of the world's leading software providers in industrial automation. Approximately 250 employees work at the company's headquarters in Kempten and at its branches in China, Italy, and the USA.
Founded in 1994 by Dieter Hess and Manfred Werner, the company's customers come from all areas of automation: manufacturers of industrial controllers as well as users who automate machines and systems with CODESYS.
Core products include the CODESYS Development System, the associated platform-independent control system CODESYS Control for virtually any system platform, and the Industry 4.0 platform CODESYS Automation Server. The engineering of edge or cloud controllers and data exchange in IIoT networks is part of the standard functionality in CODESYS. Modern engineering functions such as true OOP, debugging, and integrated compilers enable convenient processing of all tasks—including cloud connectivity and IIoT functions. With integrated visualization, users can create and animate professional interfaces for testing, commissioning, and operation. Integrated configurators and protocols support the most important fieldbus systems and real-time Ethernet. CODESYS Safety SIL2 and SIL3 are integrated safety products certified by TÜV according to IEC 61508. Even a virtual safety controller is available: hardware-independent and SIL3-certified.
