Colorado Headwaters Land Trust is a small nonprofit focused on preserving and stewarding open lands within the headwaters of the Colorado River, with emphasis on vistas, wildlife, agriculture, and water, through collaborative work with landowners. It operates primarily in Grand County, Colorado, and is the region’s only local land trust, headquartered in Granby. The organization relies on conservation easements as its main land-protection tool and is recognized as a Colorado-certified land trust while pursuing National Accreditation.

The trust currently holds 60 conservation easements covering 7,423 acres. Its history traces back to 1995 when it was incorporated as Grand County Land Conservancy, later renamed Middle Park Land Trust in 2000, and finally adopted its current name in 2013 to reflect river-focused initiatives. In December 2024, the organization merged with Colorado Open Lands, a statewide land trust based in Lakewood.
