The Colored Pencil Society of America is a non-profit organization founded in 1990, based in the United States and serving artists who work with colored pencil. It supports the practice by organizing exhibitions, providing product research information, hosting workshops and seminars, and publishing a full-color magazine, alongside a networking directory and district chapters across the country. With a global membership of nearly 2,000, the society facilitates opportunities for artists to showcase work through two annual exhibitions—one online and another in conjunction with its annual convention—and to connect through regional and online platforms. The organization operates within the visual arts field by positioning colored pencil as a recognized medium for fine art, reflecting its recent coverage in regional media.
