The Columbus Symphony (CSO) is a performing arts organization based in Columbus, Ohio, established in 1951. It serves as central Ohio’s leading music presenter, employing a core group of musicians, conductors, a chorus, and guest artists to stage concerts. Its musicians engage with the wider community beyond concert halls, performing with other local ensembles and teaching and mentoring young musicians. Under Music Director Rossen Milanov, the CSO offers four programming strands—Masterworks, Pops, Picnic with the Pops, and Education/Community Engagement—to reach audiences across central Ohio. The organization pursues efforts to attract newer, younger, and more diverse audiences while supporting children's learning through its education and community programs. In 2025 the CSO announced Maureen O'Brien as chief executive officer, with the appointment effective July 15, 2025.
