Community Dental Care is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit safety net dental provider serving people on public programs and the uninsured. As an established leader in promoting health equity, we expand access to high quality comprehensive oral health care for the underserved. We are committed to removing barriers that impede so many Minnesotans from receiving care and services that promote oral health, which is key to good health overall. As a trusted community provider for more than 20 years, we deliver high quality, comprehensive and accessible dental care for patients of all ages across five clinics located in the Twin Cities, Rochester and Buffalo. Our diverse staff of 310 employees, representing 30 languages, provide culturally sensitive care for 130,000 patient visits annually. About 70% of the people we serve are racially and ethnically diverse and 60% are children. The vast majority (91%) are low income or uninsured. Community Dental Care is committed to providing affordable and accessible dental care to all patients in need, especially those with very limited or no income. Each year, we provide $1.7 million in charity care. We have a Charity Care Policy, Sliding Fee Scale Policy and Care Grant protocols to provide financial assistance for uninsured and underinsured patients. In addition to oral health care services, we provide preventive education and services to children and families in over 40 outreach locations, including schools, community service organizations, food shelves and medical clinics. We train over 300 students per year providing robust clinical training for dental professional students (hygienist and dental assistant) and oral health assessment/prevention training for nursing students.
