Community Health Endowment (CHE) is a nonpartisan municipal endowment dedicated to making Lincoln, Nebraska the healthiest city in the nation. Since 1998, CHE has invested more than $44 million in local nonprofits working to improve public health, strengthen neighborhoods, and reduce health disparities. We focus our grantmaking on: • Early and adequate prenatal care • Healthy food access • Youth fitness • Mental wellness and human connection Through Place Matters, our neighborhood-level health mapping initiative, we use data to guide investment, spark collaboration, and support community-driven solutions. Over the past decade, Place Matters has helped direct millions of dollars into high-need areas and elevate local expertise. CHE is not a direct service provider. We are a funder, partner, and convener, working alongside nonprofits, civic leaders, and residents to strengthen systems and expand opportunity.
