Community Health Endowment of Lincoln (CHE) is a small, nonpartisan municipal endowment focused on improving health outcomes in Lincoln, Nebraska. Since 1998, it has invested more than $44 million in local nonprofits working to advance public health, strengthen neighborhoods, and reduce health disparities. Its grantmaking targets prenatal care, healthy food access, youth fitness, and mental wellness and human connection, while Place Matters uses neighborhood health data to guide investment and collaboration.

CHE operates as a funder, partner, and convener rather than a direct service provider, working with nonprofits, civic leaders, and residents to strengthen systems and expand opportunity. Based in Lincoln, Nebraska, the organization has pursued collaborations such as a 2025 partnership with the Lancaster County Medical Society to produce Place Matters maps on a biennial cadence.
