Community Investment Corporation is a nonprofit lender based in Chicago that provides mortgage financing to purchase and rehabilitate apartment buildings with five units or more in the six-county metropolitan Chicago area. In addition to financing, CIC operates a property management training program that thousands of landlords and managers have completed to improve marketing, administration, and maintenance of affordable rental housing. The organization also supports energy efficiency in multifamily properties through the Energy Savers program, offering below-market financing for improvements. With roots dating to 1984, CIC has facilitated the acquisition and rehabilitation of thousands of units across more than 2,200 buildings.
