Community Medical Center, based in Missoula, Montana, functions as a hospital and regional referral center within the health care system. It delivers a wide range of acute-care services, including a 24-hour emergency department and both medical/surgical care, along with adult and pediatric intensive care, obstetrics, and neonatal services. The campus houses specialized programs such as The Montana Heart Center, The Breast Center, and a rehabilitation program noted as the largest and longest-running in Montana for brain and spinal cord injuries, stroke, and orthopedic rehabilitation. It serves western Montana and Idaho as a referral hub, provides maternal and neonatal emergency transport, and is the only hospital in Missoula County offering obstetrical and newborn care, as well as one of three in the state with high-risk obstetrics and NICU; the facility is licensed for 146 acute-care beds. In mid-2026, the center expanded its patient services with the launch of an inpatient medical detox program known as StepOne Service.
