Community Resources for Science is a Berkeley-based nonprofit that supports science instruction in elementary and secondary schools through resources, in-class volunteers, and teacher professional development. The organization recruits and trains scientists to deliver engaging, standards-based, hands-on lessons in classrooms. In 2024, CRS partnered with StopWaste and district climate literacy teams to host a Climate Literacy Leadership Exchange at Chabot Space and Science, reflecting its collaborative approach to expanding science education. Founded in 1997 to address barriers teachers face in doing science, CRS has grown to serve more than 2,000 teachers in Alameda County.
