Community School is an independent elementary and preschool in St. Louis, Missouri, serving children aged 3 through sixth grade. It emphasizes an education that blends intellectual challenge with nurturing support, supported by a 7-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio that allows for personalized attention and active, experiential learning. The curriculum extends beyond core academics with programs in visual and performing arts, foreign language, and physical education, contributing to a rich learning experience. Set on an 18-acre campus with woods, trails, a pond, fields, and a treehouse, the school provides a safe environment for exploration and deeper understanding of classroom concepts. The school’s focus on character development, service learning, and public speaking aims to prepare students for leadership, and the community has stood for more than a century as a place where children fall in love with learning.

In 2022, Community School expanded its approach through a partnership with Mercer Street Friends to provide therapeutic services to students, assist with reducing chronic absenteeism, and support families as needed.
