The Community Transitional School is a small primary and secondary education institution based in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1990, it initially served children in Pre-K through 8th grade and later established its own building, completing construction in 2008 after raising about $3.6 million in 18 months to purchase land and build. Since then, CTS has added two additional classrooms that were fully funded to expand capacity while maintaining its mission to provide a stable educational environment that supports students' academic and personal growth. The school serves students who live with homeless and transient families across Multnomah County, addressing the challenges of unstable housing by offering stability within primary and secondary education. With a small staff, CTS focuses on promoting academic and personal development for these students in the Portland area.
