Compass Talent is a full service literary agency that represents literary and commercial fiction, children’s books, and a range of up-market non-fiction, including memoir, journalism, history, science and cookbooks. Founded by Heather Schroder after over twenty-five years as an agent at ICM Partners, Compass is dedicated to working with authors to shape their work and guide their careers through each stage of the publication process. We develop ideas with our clients and help shape their proposals and manuscripts before going out into the marketplace with them to ensure that each project can achieve its full potential. Beyond that, Compass oversees all aspects of a book’s life, including foreign rights and film rights.  Our client list reflects broad interests, from commercial fiction and literary fiction to serious non-fiction. We have a lifelong passion and interest in cooking and have represented authors across the food category, from cookbooks to food memoirs.
