Computers 2 Kids (C2K) believes all children and their families, regardless of their economic status, need to be computer literate and have equal access to technology and the crucial educational, occupational, and financial resources that technology can provide to improve their educational options and their futures. 

 Computers 2 Kids closes this gap by refurbishing computers and placing them in the homes of low-income families. Since 2005, we have provided more than 434,000 children and their families with the tools necessary to improve their lives. Each computer includes Microsoft and more than 1,000 educational programs. Each family receives training, technical support, and a life-time replacement should their computer fail. And our partnership with Cox provides affordable internet, ensuring the entire family has the tools to access life’s opportunities for at least the next 10 years. 

C2K realized that the computer literate market constantly updates its equipment to newer technology leaving a need for secure and environmentally conscious disposal of their older product. By collecting and refurbishing these computers from our donors, including Amazon, Booz Allen Hamilton, Cox, Hawaiian Airlines, Jack in the Box, Mission Federal Credit Union, Qualcomm, San Diego Unified School District, and Sharp Hospital, C2K provides valuable technology that has been traditionally denied to low-income families. This strategy has been validated time and time again by the enormous gratitude and excitement of the kids and parents who, for the first time, know they will have their very own computer at home.
