The Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering is a private nonprofit think tank based in Hartford, modeled after the National Academy of Sciences. It identifies and analyzes issues and technological advances relevant to Connecticut and provides objective, expert advice on science and technology to the state government and other Connecticut institutions. Comprised of distinguished scientists and engineers from the state's academic, industrial, and institutional communities, the Academy conducts policy-focused studies, often at the request of government bodies, and publishes formal reports. It also disseminates a quarterly Bulletin with updates on science and technology developments in the state, distributing it to policymakers and academic and research communities upon request. In March 2026, Khaled M. Elleithy was elected to CASE, marking a recent development for the organization.
