Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) is a nonprofit based in Hartford, Connecticut, that mobilizes the recovery community—people in recovery, family members, friends, and allies—to put a face on recovery and to provide support services. It centralizes resources for recovery and promotes recovery from alcohol and other drugs through advocacy, education, and service, while working to end discrimination and remove barriers to recovery. The organization emphasizes meeting people where they are, recognizes multiple pathways to recovery, and focuses on recovery potential while ensuring dignity and respect for all involved. Founded in 1998 by Bob Savage, CCAR began with an advocacy focus and has since expanded to offer recovery support and consulting services. In 2026 it introduced Coaching to Lead, a training program designed to develop leadership skills in recovery coaches.
