The Corinthia Group is the public listed subsidiary of CPHCL Company Ltd, (CPHCL), a privately held Maltese company, incorporated by Alfred Pisani and his family in 1966.

In 1974 LFICO, (sovereign wealth fund) acquired a stakeholding in partnership with the Pisanis which enabled CPHCL to invest in more hotels and other assets and activities in Malta and abroad.

In 2000, CPHCL incorporated and listed International Hotel Investments plc (IHI) on the Malta Stock Exchange. CPHCL holds a controlling stake in IHI alongside sovereign wealth funds Istithmar World and LFICO. 

Over the years CPHCL transferred the "Corinthia" brand, its Corinthia hotels and commercial real estate along with its operating and management companies Corinthia Hotels, Corinthia Caterers and Quality Projects, consolidating the Corinthia Group's activities into CPHCL's subsidiary and publicly listed investment vehicle, IHI.

The Corinthia Group provides expertise through independent subsidiaries Corinthia Hotels, Corinthia Caterers, Corinthia Developments and Quality Projects and continues to own and manage landmark properties in Europe and beyond.
