Distressed home owners need a source of information when they fear financial strain making it difficult to keep their home. Many of us bought homes in the peak of the market. The downturn has left us with a mortgage greater than the value of the home (underwater in real estate terms). This coupled with major changes in our life, medical expenses, loss of employment or reduction in pay, divorce etc. press us into overextending our credit to keep up. We know that default looms in our future.
