Dairyland Power Cooperative, based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is a generation and transmission utility that provides wholesale electricity to 24 electric distribution cooperatives and 17 municipal utilities in the Upper Midwest. It operates a diversified generating portfolio—coal, solar, wind, natural gas, hydro and biogas—and transmits power across roughly 3,200 miles of lines with about 300 substations serving a footprint of 62 counties in four states. The arrangement delivers electricity to more than half a million people through its member networks, prioritizing safety, reliability, sustainability and affordability. Operating as a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, Dairyland adheres to cooperative principles and emphasizes values such as innovation, accountability, integrity and commitment to community. In May 2026, the cooperative announced a transmission-system collaboration with GridLiance to advance regional grid expansion.
