In 1988, Dan started selling sausage and other snacks out of his ‘74 Dodge Dart. He drove his reliable old car from the main streets of Seattle to the foothills of Mount Rainier, entering businesses to present his Original Summer Sausages as well as other local treats. He admits it was not easy, but he welcomed the challenge. After a few months he perfected his introduction; he would enter an office and say, “I am Dan the Sausageman!” People would laugh, Dan would sell, and Dan the Sausageman was born!
