He served as the former Chairman of the Coventry & Warwickshire LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) and has supported many organisations including the Shakespeare Hospice, Stratford-upon-Avon Football Club, and as Chair of the Stratford Hospital Appeal which has raised over £1m. In recognition of his efforts as LEP Chairman, Denys was awarded an OBE in 2013 for Services to the Economy.
